Mautic: campaigns that react to what a contact does.
Segments, forms, landing pages and email campaigns in one package, on a server we manage. The sender settings are our worry.
Short answer
Mautic is open source marketing automation: sort contacts into segments, send email campaigns, build forms and landing pages, give leads a score and let campaigns react to behaviour, such as opening a mail. It is an alternative to HubSpot Marketing and ActiveCampaign. Jevana runs Mautic as an instance of its own, sets up your mail sender correctly and looks after everything.
Mautic or Listmonk
| Subject | Mautic | Listmonk |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Campaigns that react to behaviour | Sending newsletters and mailing lists |
| Contacts | Segments and a score per lead | Lists of subscribers |
| Forms | Forms and landing pages | Sign-up forms with confirmation |
| Size | Many possibilities, so also much to set up | Small and fast |
| Suits | Whoever wants to set up a route for leads | Whoever mainly wants to send a newsletter |
We host both. If all you send is a newsletter, Listmonk is enough and is the better place to start.
What Mautic does
Sorting contacts
- Segments that update themselves from what you know about a contact
- A score per lead, based on what someone does
Bringing people in
- Forms for your website
- Landing pages for an action or an offer
Campaigns
- Email campaigns to a segment
- Follow-up steps that depend on whether someone opened or clicked the mail
Mail that arrives
Automated mail in volume goes wrong when the sender is not right. Without correctly configured SPF, DKIM and DMARC, a campaign ends up in spam or gets refused. You only notice when the replies stay away.
We put that right before the first campaign goes out, on the domain you use.

Questions
Can Mautic replace HubSpot Marketing or ActiveCampaign?
For the core, yes: segments, email campaigns, forms, landing pages, lead scoring and campaigns that react to behaviour. It takes somewhat more to set up than a newsletter tool. If your team misses something it uses every day, we find out beforehand whether Mautic does it or whether another choice fits better.
What is the difference between Mautic and Listmonk?
Listmonk sends newsletters to lists and does so light and fast. Mautic does more: it follows what a contact does and lets a campaign react to that. If you have a newsletter and no need for automation, choose Listmonk. If you want to follow up leads step by step, Mautic is the better pick.
Why are SPF, DKIM and DMARC needed for Mautic?
Receiving mail servers check whether a message really comes from your domain. They do that with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. If one of the three is missing or wrong, a campaign lands in spam or does not arrive. We set these records for the domain you send from, before you begin.
What is lead scoring in Mautic?
Lead scoring gives a contact points for what it does: opening a mail, clicking a link, filling in a form. Someone with many points is clearly interested and can be approached by your salesperson. Which actions earn how many points is for you to decide. Mautic counts and keeps track.
What does Jevana do for Mautic and what does it leave to me?
We put Mautic on your domain, take care of the mail settings, keep the software current and make a backup every day with a copy elsewhere. The campaigns, texts and segments are work for your team. What it costs, you read in a proposal you receive before we set anything up.
