Landing page design: one page, one question.
Someone who clicks an advert wants the answer to that advert. Not your homepage.
Short answer
A landing page is a separate page with one goal: bringing a visitor who arrives from an advert, email or search to one action, such as an enquiry or an order. Jevana builds landing pages that load fast on a phone, with no menu to distract, and with a form that has been tested. The page can sit inside your existing site or at an address of its own.
A landing page against an ordinary page
| Part | Ordinary page | Landing page |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Inform, refer onwards | One action |
| Menu | The whole menu of the site | None, or only the logo |
| Content | What the company wants to say | What this visitor has just asked for |
| Length | As long as needed | As short as possible |
| Success | Visitors | Enquiries per hundred visitors |
What we look at
The first seconds
- The heading repeats the promise of the advert
- The button or form is in view without scrolling
- The page loads on a phone with a poor connection
The form
- Only the fields you need to call back or email
- A confirmation for the visitor and an alert for you
- Tested with a real submission, also a month from now
Measuring
- How many visitors, how many enquiries
- Without trackers if you want, using your own server statistics
- A second variant alongside, if you want to compare
Most campaigns leak at the page
A company spends money on adverts and sends the click to the homepage. There the visitor has to work out where the offer is. Most do not.
A landing page is the cheapest part of a campaign and decides the most. The same advert, the same budget, and more enquiries because the page does what the advert promised. How many more you only know once you measure, and that is why we measure.
Questions
When do you need a separate landing page?
You need a landing page when you buy or send traffic with one message: an advert, a mailing, a flyer with a QR code or a promotion. The visitor arrives with a specific expectation, and a page that matches it exactly brings more enquiries than your homepage. For ordinary search traffic, your normal pages are enough.
Can a landing page sit inside my existing website?
Yes. The page can sit under your own domain, in your house style, but without the menu and footer of the rest of the site. That is usually the best choice, because visitors recognise the address. For a campaign with a name of its own or a temporary offer, a separate domain can suit better.
How do I know whether a landing page works?
By counting how many visitors make an enquiry. That percentage is the only figure that matters. We set up the measurement so you see per source what it brings in: the advert, the mailing, the search. If you want to improve, we put a second variant next to the first and compare over an equal period.
Can it work without cookies and trackers?
Yes. Counting visitors and enquiries needs no third-party cookies; it can be done with statistics on the server itself. A cookie notice is then unnecessary, which makes the page faster and calmer. If you use an advertising platform that asks for its own measurement pixel, the notice is required. We set out the trade-off beforehand.
