VPS hosting on hardware whose owner you can email.
A virtual server of your own in the Netherlands. You decide what runs on it, we keep it running.
Short answer
A VPS, short for virtual private server, is a virtual server with its own computing power, memory and storage on shared physical hardware. You get full admin rights and decide what runs on it. Jevana rents out VPSs on its own hardware in a data centre in the Netherlands, with daily backup and monitoring. You can manage it yourself or leave the management to us.
What you get
- Computing power and memory
- Matched to what will run on it. Scaling up later is possible, without moving.
- Operating system
- Linux as standard, in the distribution you are used to. Windows Server is possible by arrangement.
- Access
- Full admin rights. We only log in if you take management.
- Backup
- A daily copy of the whole server, on separate storage.
- Network
- Your own IP address, with a firewall in front that you can set per port.
- Where
- On servers owned by Jevana, in a data centre in Hengelo.

About the cheapest VPS
If you compare VPSs on monthly price, you end up at large providers who rent out hundreds of thousands. They are cheaper than we are. For a trial project or a server you manage entirely yourself, that is a fine choice.
We are here for people who want to know where the server stands, who owns the hardware and who they email when something happens. And for people who would rather not manage it themselves. Then you stop comparing monthly prices and start asking what a day of downtime costs.
A VPS with managementQuestions
What is a VPS?
A VPS is a virtual server: a sealed-off part of a physical server that behaves like a machine of its own, with its own operating system, memory and storage. You can install whatever you like on it. The difference from web hosting is that nothing is shared with other clients, apart from the hardware underneath.
Linux or Windows on a VPS?
Linux is the default for websites, online shops and most applications, and it carries no licence cost. You choose Windows only when the software you want to run asks for it, such as an application built for Windows Server. For Windows, Microsoft licence costs are added to the price. If you are unsure, the answer is almost always Linux.
How much memory and storage do I need?
That depends on what runs on it. A simple website needs little, while an online shop with a search engine and a database needs several times more. We start with an estimate based on your software and visitor numbers, and look at actual use after a few weeks. Scaling up does not mean setting the server up again.
Does a VPS come with a backup?
Yes. We make a daily copy of every VPS as a whole and keep it on separate storage. That lets you restore the server to an earlier day. If you also want to bring back single files or a database from a particular hour, we agree on a finer-grained backup.
Is this the cheapest VPS in the Netherlands?
No, and we do not try to be. Large providers rent out a VPS for less than we can. What you get with us is our own hardware in the Netherlands, a daily backup that comes with it and two people who know your server. If the lowest price is your only criterion, you are better off elsewhere.
