A Magento shop that is still right after it goes live.

Whoever builds it also hosts it with us. When it gets slow, there is nobody else to point at.

Short answer

Building a Magento shop makes sense if you have a large or complex range, sell to businesses, or want to run several shops and languages from one back office. Jevana sets up Magento 2, builds the theme on Hyvä, adds the modules and integrations you need and then hosts the shop on its own hardware. After delivery, the code is yours.

Questions

Which online shops should choose Magento?

Magento suits shops with a large range, many product variants, business customers with their own prices or several shops run from one back office. The platform can do a lot, and that also makes it heavier to host and maintain. If you sell a manageable range to consumers in one country, WooCommerce works out cheaper.

What do you get when a new Magento shop is delivered?

You get a working shop on a production environment, a staging environment for testing changes, the full code in a Git repository and a description of how it is built. Payment, shipping and the agreed integrations are tested with real orders. Administrators are shown the daily work in the back office: products, orders and promotions.

Who owns the code of our Magento shop?

You do. The theme and the modules we build for you become your property on delivery, and the repository sits somewhere you can reach it yourself. Third-party modules stay with their makers and keep their own licences. If you later move to another agency, that agency takes over the repository and can carry on.

Do I have to buy a licence for Magento?

Not for Magento Open Source: it is free to use and enough for most small and medium-sized shops. Adobe Commerce is the paid edition, with a yearly licence that you arrange with Adobe. The Hyvä theme has also been free since November 2025. What you do pay for is the build, any third-party modules, hosting and maintenance.

How long is a Magento version supported?

Adobe supports each 2.4 release for three years with security patches. A shop built now starts on the latest release and receives updates for that period. After that comes an upgrade to the next one. That is planned maintenance, not a rebuild, provided the modules were built cleanly outside the Magento core.
